Blog #1 "This was some adventure, huh?"

Once upon a time, there were three friends going on a road trip to Canada. The three boys were named Matt, Josh and Sean. As they were driving, they decided to stop at a rest stop right out of Winnipeg. As they got out stretching their legs, they looked over into the forest and saw a family of black bears emerging out of the trees. "Don't move..." Josh whispered to the other two. The three boys stood still as statues, just watching the bears play, rolling around, and tackling each other in the long green grass. Just as the tension in the boys started to fade, the mother turned around to disappear into the forest, calling her cubs behind her. "That was so tight!" Matt said excitedly as the last cub vanished behind the thick trees. "We should get going again" said Josh, looking at his watch, and walking back to their car. The three went back to the car jumping and jogging talking about how amazing seeing the bears were. The excitement in the boys lasted about two miles until it turned back into a boring car ride. They drove another four miles before turning onto a dirt road that would later take them to their camp ground. Josh slammed on the brakes sending Sean into the front seat. "Look!" Josh yelled, pointing directly in front of their car. Being as quiet as possible, they all stared a family of moose walking along side of the road. "Pull up slowly" Sean said while rummaging in the back. As they pulled up, Sean stuck his hand out of the window and fed the baby moose some lettuce. After the baby ate the lettuce, they pulled away quickly, so they wouldn't disturb the parents anymore. The boys had finally come to the camp grounds. They climbed out of the car and began to set up their tents and supplies. After they had finished doing that they climbed into their tents and sleeping bags to go to sleep. The next morning they got up early to go fishing. Before they reached the water, they heard a screech above them. As they looked up, an eagle started to dive towards the water. The eagle opened its claws and before any of them could blink, it had swooped across the top of the water and snatched up a fish. As they watched the eagle soar off with its newly caught prey, Matt said, "This was some adventure, huh?" “One of the best" said Josh. All of a sudden, they heard a huge growl to their left. Up on the rocks, their was a mountain lion slowly creeping towards them. As the three of them darted to the car, Sean yelled out "It's not over yet!"

  1. Stacy, I enjoyed your story. One suggestion that would help to improve your essay is divide it into paragraphs. Remember with dialogue you start a new paragraph every time the speaker changes.
